François Sockhom Mey is a botanical artist, scientific illustrator, carnivorous plant taxonomist, and French literature teacher. Since 2004, he has been passionately studying carnivorous plants, focusing on systematics and ecology in France (where he lives), the USA, his native Cambodia, as well as Vietnam, Borneo, Sumatra, he lives), the USA, his native Cambodia, as well as Vietnam, Borneo, Sumatra, Peninsular Malaysia, the Seychelles, and Venezuela. He has a particular interest in Nepenthes and Heliamphora pitcher plants, having named several species Nepenthes and Heliamphora pitcher plants, having named several species including Nepenthes bokorensis, N. palawanensis, N. diabolica, N. berbulu, and Heliamphora electrum. Throughout his taxonomic work, he has illustrated dozens of new species and produced numerous botanical paintings and scientific illustrations for academic publications, private collectors, and botanical gardens.
