Genetics, Hybridization, and Conservation of Several Sarracenia species Endemic to the Southeastern United States

Dr. Vivian Negron-Ortiz is a botanist with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Florida, focusing for the past 19 years on protection and preservation of federally listed plant species and their habitats and at-risk petitioned species. In this position she conducts surveys, research, and prepares documents under the Endangered Species Act.
Her research work has included systematics, breeding systems of flowering plants, demography, and genetics, and applications of these to conservation. She has a PhD in Botany from Miami University, Ohio, and a Master’s in biology from University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
