One of the oldest zoos in Europe, set amid Amsterdam canals. Also a botanical garden, planetarium and aquarium. The butterfly greenhouse is exceptional.

The world’s largest flower garden, in Lisse just outside Leiden. In August the summer garden is in full swing, with a labyrinth and impressive greenhouse collections.
