Workshops

During the ICPS conference visitors can participate in two workshops related to carnivorous plants. The workshops are open to both ICPS conference participants and regular Hortus visitors, including those visiting the plant show or market.

Participation requires a reservation. The number of places per workshop is limited.

Workshop: Create a Mexican Butterwort Rock

Includes: bowl, stone, soil mix, and three plants.

Discover the fascinating world of the Mexican Pinguicula. During this workshop, our specialists will introduce you to the natural habitat of these remarkable butterwort species.

You will then create your own “ping‑rock”: a naturally styled miniature rock arrangement on which you place several butterwort plants. Under expert guidance, you will assemble your own composition.

At the end of the workshop, you can take your handmade creation home, ready for a bright spot on your windowsill.


Botanical Drawing: Mini Workshop Sarracenia

Please bring: a folder to store your drawing (A4 size)

During this mini‑workshop, guided by a botanical artist, you will create your own small botanical artwork.

After a short introduction, you will start drawing a Sarracenia pitcher placed in front of you, using graphite. Throughout the session, the instructor will regularly provide tips and guidance.

After the main instruction, you will have time to further refine your drawing at your own pace.

A creative moment to focus on observation, drawing, and the beauty of carnivorous plants.
