Carnivorous Plant Market

Come home with a carnivorous plant of your own. Specialist growers from across Europe bring their finest Sarracenia, Nepenthes, Dionaea, Drosera and more to Leiden; browse, ask questions, and buy directly from the people who grow them.

The market runs alongside the Carnivorous Plant Show, hands-on workshops, free public lectures and activities for children, with plenty to see and do beyond the plant stalls.

Barbara Gravendeel, scientific director of the Hortus Botanicus Leiden, gives the official opening at 12:00 on Friday 21 August. After the official opening, the market is open until 18:00 on Friday, 9:00–18:00 on Saturday and 9:00–17:00 on Sunday.
